What is so special about HiPP Bio Combiotik® 2?

HiPP 2 BIO COMBIOTIK contains a unique combination of natural lactic acid cultures originally obtained from breast milk and valuable dietary fiber (GOS) from organic lactose, based on nature’s example. It is ideal for the beginning of complementary feeding. Its composition covers exactly the needs of the baby after 6 months.

In addition to omega-3 fatty acids (ALA) – important for the development of brain and nerve cells – it also contains an increased level of iron.

Instructions for use

The milk formula contains important omega-3 fatty acids, galactooligosaccharides from organic lactose, as well as vitamins C and D. This combination of nutrients contributes to a healthy intestinal flora and supports the immune system. In addition, it can positively influence vision as well as brain and nerve cells. The follow-on milk provides your child with new energy, satiates age-appropriate and is easily digestible. Suitable for use after Hipp Bio Combiotic 1 organic follow-on milk and any other follow-on formula.

Preparation

• Boil up fresh drinking water
• Pour the water into a clean baby bottle
• Add the powder
• Close the bottle and shake vigorously several times.
• check for drinking temperature (approx. 98,6 °F / 37 °C)

Notes

Follow the instructions for use exactly during preparation. Improper preparation or storage over a longer period of time can lead to adverse health effects, e.g. due to the growth of undesirable germs. Therefore, prepare food freshly before each meal and feed immediately.

Do not reuse leftover food. Clean bottle, teat and ring thoroughly. Close the opened pouch tightly, store in a dry place at room temperature and use up within three weeks. Do not heat the food in microwave (risk of scalding).

When to switch to HIPP Bio Combiotik Stage 2?

HiPP 2 is a follow-on milk and is suitable for babies after 6 months of age. It is ideal for this age and contains just the right amounts of vitamins, minerals and energy. If your baby is then old enough and is already eating complementary foods, you can also switch directly from Pre to 2.

What is the difference between initial formulas (Pre and 1) and follow-on formulas?

Follow-on formulae are suitable for babies after the sixth month, when they are already receiving complementary foods. The formula meets the nutritional needs of the older baby. Level 2 foods are perfect from six months, while Level 3 is better from ten months.

Follow-on formulas differ from initial formulas primarily in their higher iron content. The iron stores that the baby has at birth are almost empty after about 4 to 6 months. It is then important to provide additional iron through complementary foods. Follow-on foods can also be a good source of iron for infants in the second half of life, as they have a higher iron content than initial foods.

Won’t HIPP Bio Combiotik Stage 2 milk make the baby fat?

Today’s follow-on foods do not make babies fat. Doctors in the past thought that a baby needed much more calories after the fourth month. For this reason, significantly more starch and sugar were added to follow-on formula. Nutritionists warned against overfeeding. The calorie content of follow-on milks was therefore harmonized with that of the initial milks.

Since 2008, an EU directive has stipulated that follow-on and starter milks must not have a calorie content higher than a maximum of 70 kcal/100ml. This means that the energy content of follow-on milks hardly differs from that of starter milks. It contains more starch and is therefore significantly more creamy.

HiPP follow-on formulas are ideally suited to the needs of children from the age of six months. They contain precisely the right amounts of vitamins and minerals. Follow-on milks also improve a baby’s iron supply.

How do I switch from another formula milk to HIPP Bio Combiotik Stage 2?

If there is still powder left from the previous food, you can slowly switch to the new food. Replace only one bottle on the first day, and then another one every day. Such a changeover is particularly gentle. Please do not mix the powder of two different foods into one bottle.
