What is so special about HIPP HA Combiotic Stage 2?

HiPP HA2 COMBIOTIK® follow-on formula is ideal for baby’s needs after the 6th month. In simple terms, it contains highly reduced cow’s milk proteins. The formula also contains vitamins A, C and D for the immune system and omega-3 fatty acids for brain and nerve cell development.

Following the example of nature, the formula contains a unique combination of natural lactic acid cultures originally obtained from breast milk and valuable fiber from lactose.

Instructions for use

Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months is ideal for your baby. Don’s use this follow-on formula should as a substitute for breast milk during the first six months. It should only be used as part of a mixed diet after 6 months.

However, your baby’s individual needs may require you to introduce follow-on formula as part of a mixed diet at an earlier stage. Please consult your pediatrician for advice. A balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important.

Preparation

• Boil up fresh drinking water
• Pour the water into a clean baby bottle
• Add the powder
• Close bottle ans shake well
• check for drinking temperature (approx. 98,6 °F / 37 °C)

Notes

Follow the instructions for use exactly during preparation. Improper preparation or storage over a longer period of time can lead to adverse health effects, e.g. due to the growth of undesirable germs. Therefore, prepare food freshly before each meal and feed immediately.

Do not reuse leftover food. Clean the bottle as well as the teat and the ring. Close the opened pouch tightly, store in a dry place at room temperature and use up within three weeks. Do not heat the food in microwave (risk of scalding).

The formula contains Lactose, vegetable oils (palm oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil), hydrolyzed whey protein, starch, galactooligosaccharides from lactose, calcium orthophosphates, and potassium chloride.

It also contains citric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, L-tyrosine, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, vitamin C, magnesium carbonate, potassium citrate, L-tryptophan, calcium citrates, magnesium sulfate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, niacin, pantothenic acid, natural lactic acid cultures (Limosilactobacillus fermentum hereditum), and vitamin E.

Further ingredients include calcium carbonate, copper sulfate, vitamin B 2, vitamin B 1, vitamin A, vitamin B 6, potassium iodate, Metafolin®3 (calcium L-methylfolate), vitamin K, biotin, sodium selenate, vitamin D, and vitamin B 12.

Does HA food reduce the risk of allergies?

If allergies occur in the family, i.e. if parents or siblings are known to have an allergy (e.g. hay fever, food allergy, neurodermatitis or allergic asthma), babies in this family are also considered to be “pre-exposed to allergies”. Breast milk is the best allergy protection for babies. Mothers of allergy-prone children should breastfeed their babies fully for four to six months, if possible.

If breastfeeding is not possible or if the mother wants to supplement, HA food is a good option. The term HA stands for hypo-allergenic food. The special manufacturing process of HA food turns the large proteins of cow’s milk into many small pieces. This can reduce the risk of developing an allergy.

Won’t follow-on milk make the baby chubby?

Today’s follow-on foods do not make babies fat. In the past, doctors thought that a baby needs much more calories after the 4th month. For this reason, the follow-on foods of the time contained significantly more starch and sugar. Nutritionists warned against overfeeding. The calorie content of follow-on milks was therefore harmonized with that of the initial milks.

Since 2008, an EU directive has stipulated that follow-on and starter milks must not have a calorie content higher than a maximum of 70 kcal/100ml. This means that the energy content of follow-on milks hardly differs from that of starter milks. It contains more starch and is therefore significantly more creamy.

HiPP follow-on formulas are ideal for the needs of children from the age of six months. They contain precisely the right amounts of vitamins and minerals. Follow-on milks also improve a baby’s iron supply.

How do I switch from another formula milk to HIPP HA Combiotik Stage 2?

If there is still powder left from the previous food, you can slowly switch to the new food. Replace only one bottle on the first day, and then another one every day. Such a changeover is particularly gentle. Please do not mix the powder of two different foods into one bottle.
