German vs Dutch HiPP Combiotic — Key Difference

Both versions share HiPP's certified organic sourcing and Combiotic blend. The key difference is the carbohydrate profile. HiPP Dutch uses lactose as its sole carbohydrate at every stage — no starch, no maltodextrin. HiPP German (this product) includes organic starch alongside lactose. If you want the starch-free option, see HiPP Dutch Combiotic Stage 1.

What is HiPP Combiotic Stage 1 formula?
HiPP Combiotic Stage 1 is an organic infant formula designed for babies from birth. It provides complete nutrition and can be used as a sole source of nutrition during the early months when breastfeeding is not possible.
What age is HiPP Stage 1 suitable for?
HiPP Stage 1 formula is suitable for newborns from birth up to around 6 months of age.
What is the difference between HiPP Stage 1 and Stage 2?
HiPP Stage 1 is intended for newborns and contains lactose as the main carbohydrate. Stage 2 is designed for older babies after about 6 months when their nutritional needs change.
Is HiPP Combiotic Stage 1 organic?
Check the individual package for its current organic certification, ingredients and market-specific product information.
Does HiPP Stage 1 contain probiotics?
The product label lists lactic-acid cultures. Check the individual package for the current ingredients and declared composition. Their presence does not guarantee a particular digestive or microbiome outcome.
Does HiPP Stage 1 contain lactose?
The product label lists lactose. Check the individual package for the current ingredients and declared composition. The presence of lactose does not make formula equivalent to breast milk.
How should HiPP Stage 1 newborn formula be prepared?
Follow the exact water-to-powder ratio and preparation steps printed on the package. Measure the water first, use only the supplied scoop, and never dilute or concentrate the feed. Powdered formula is not sterile, so prepare it hygienically and follow professional guidance for premature, immunocompromised or very young infants.
How long does HiPP 1 infant formula last after opening?
Keep the opened package tightly closed in a cool, dry place; do not refrigerate the powder. Use it within the period printed on the package because storage instructions can vary by product and market version. Do not use powder that is expired, damp, contaminated or stored incorrectly.
Can I switch from another formula to HiPP Stage 1 Combiotic?
Many parents switch formulas when looking for a European organic option. If you plan to change your baby’s formula, it is best to consult your pediatrician.
